Mission: A tiny iOS app built on the side to follow Claire while she draws her first comic book: one drawing at a time, a short note, an anonymous “keep going”. Every letter, dot, line and thumb on screen was drawn on paper first.

Slow by design

No account, no scroll, no fixed rhythm. A new drawing shows up when it shows up, and readers can only say “J’aime” or “J’aime pas”.

A font made from a photo

Claire wrote the alphabet, the digits and a few signs on a sheet of paper. One phone photo later, a small Python pipeline cut every letter out and wrote a real TrueType font, wobble included.

The rule was strict: if it is visible, it was drawn first. Thumbs for the votes, pencil dots and lines for the navigation, Claire’s illustrations in a hand-drawn frame.

Anonymous votes tied to the installation, a feed cached on the phone, an admin page so Claire can publish without Xcode, slow push notifications. Four TestFlight builds in June 2026.
